Meet Island Luna 🌙
Yep, my name’s a hint—I’m originally from a real island, far away from San Antonio! I was just a pup, about 4-6 months old, when I was scooped up from the sand and brought to Texas back in 2017. That was a big change for a little island girl, but I landed in the loving arms of a rescue and a kind foster family.

I was adopted and spent several years in what I thought was my forever home. But sadly, in 2023, my world shifted again. My adopter gave me away, and I ended up lost—scared and alone—until I was picked up by the pound. Luckily, my original rescue found me once more. They never stopped caring, and now I’m back where I’m safe.

After all I've been through, I’m still sweet, gentle, and so ready to finally find the family that will never let me go. I'm about 35 pounds, still youthful in spirit, and do well with other friendly dogs and older kids. I’d love a calm, confident dog buddy to help me feel secure.

Adoption counselor will email you to discuss the inquiry/application,and give more info about the pet, the foster and adoption process..

If you are approved to adopt, payments can be made on our website through PayPal, Debit Card or any major credit card.

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required for dogs. However, because it stresses cats to be confined and transported with dogs long distances, we do not transport our cats. They are local to Texas only. Thank you.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
