My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a companion? Pick Gobi if you are wanting a dog that is loyal and wants to be right by your side. Gobi is a 3 year old pittie mix that loves to be with he humans. Though a little shy at first, Gobi's sweet personality will shine once he knows you are his friend and will be very motivated to please his people. Gobi will even tolerate wearing doggie clothes and knows how to still look cool and in style! He gets along with other dogs too and would do particularly well with dogs similar in size to his 60lbs. Gobi has the most gorgeous blonde-brindle coat with wide hazel eyes that instantly catches your attention. He is house and crate trained, and a fairly chill boy that loves to snooze on the couch and play with his toys! Gobi really loves stuffies, he will pick one up then carry it into the yard each time the door is opened. He just can't leave his stuffie's behind. Ready to make room in your heart and home for Gobi? Send in your adoption application today at www.underhoundrailroad.org

Gobi is currently being fostered in Maine.

"Such a gentle soul!" - NC Volunteer

"I adore Gobi so much from the first time I meet him. He was a little shy when first meeting him, but I totally understand being shy around new people. His eyes! They are so beautiful and he is just a handsome boy in general. Gobi did great for walks and car rides too! Enjoyed treats and loved his stuff animal. It was so cute to see him carrying his stuff animal around while wagging his tail the whole time." - NC Volunteer

"Gobi is just a sweet gentle little man. He was a little out of sorts on Friday (just arrived in Maine from transport) but settled in very quickly. He is super well behaved with the girls, starting to play with Noodles and is full of zoomies when he goes outside." - Maine Foster

More about this rescue

Underhound Railroad was formed in 2009 by a group of friends, with the goal of rescuing innocent dogs from death row in Connecticut shelters. Underhound Railroad has now grown to include rescue communities in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, North Carolina, South Carolina and Utah.

With our focus on rural areas where shelters are overflowing with abandoned dogs waiting to find rescue, our network of Underhound volunteers work hard to prevent undeserved deaths, see that medical, emotional and behavioral needs are tended to, and transportation as well as a loving foster family are provided to the pups on their journey to finding their forever homes!
