My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hank has been a joy since arriving at Fosters gate unannounced. He is house trained, knows a few commands, & plays well with our 7 yr old female dog & 10 yr old male dog. He even made friends with the neighbors 4 yr old male Lab all on his own. They play for hours!
Hank is obedient. He will sleep indoors all night. He likes to be near one of his humans. During the day he is curious & chases butterflies, crickets, lizards, grasshoppers, basically living his best life outdoors.
He loves trying to herd our home doggies when we walk. I have never seen a faster running or higher jumping dog. He plays fetch with balls & toys. Sweet, sweet dog .
I want him to find his forever home with his own humans that will love him as much as we have. He is neutered chipped & up to date on shots & flea treatments. Please consider Hank-the-cow-dawg!! Schedule a meeting !!!

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
