My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Stormy!  Born around late August 2023, he appears to be a mix of Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd.  He will likely weigh between 100-125 as an adult.  He is a wonderful combination of playfulness and sweetness.

He loves to snuggle with his people and is eager to please.  He is Mr. Popularity and a favorite with everyone who comes into his foster home.  He is a bit cautious when he first meets someone new, but warms up after he sees that they’re nice.  Then he will lay in your lap all day!
Second to quiet cuddle time with his people, Stormy loves to play!  He loves to get outside and run and play with the big dogs!  He can romp with the best of them. He has “episodes” of wild energy and then he needs a nap!

He LOVES toys and anything that squeaks.  He is obsessed with the toy box and will take his toys with him wherever he goes.  He just wants to be loved and to play with his toys!
Prior to coming to SPIN, baby Stormy suffered a broken femur and internal injuries from being hit by a car.  He was taken to the vet by his owner who was sadly unable to pay for the extensive care and made the difficult choice to surrender the pup.

Stormy's luck changed the day that SPIN said YES to him.  After two surgeries and a stay at the animal hospital, Stormy came to his loving foster home. He wasn't thrilled about crate rest, but he was a good patient.

After dutifully waiting for his wounds to heal, he was so excited to finally be allowed to play with his foster Pyr brother and sister, and his foster German Shepherd brother and sister like he always wanted!  Now, he runs and plays and romps so joyfully!

He loves putting the leash on and going for a walk and does so well on leash.  He is a quiet boy and doesn’t bark much at all.  He rides nicely in a car.

He knows “sit” and “wait” and is such a gentleman when it comes time to eat, sitting so nicely on his own as you bring his food bowl to him.

Stormy knows the “crate” command but would prefer to not go into the crate much now after having to be on crate rest during his recovery.  But he does go into the crate when he needs to, and doesn’t complain about it once he is in.  He would much rather be out snuggling with either a big dog or his people.

He is all recovered, is coming into his own, and is ready for his forever family.  And what a lucky family they will be.  He is the sweetest boy and will make his new family so happy that they chose him!  He is THE CUTEST little dude!

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI0

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
