My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED

Kristi is an incredibly sweet and loving Tricolor Smooth Collie who is learning more and more each day about living her best dog life indoors with a family, both human and canine. Kristi has been through a lot in her 1.5 years of life so far, but she’s done so well in her foster home that we know she’ll absolutely flourish with a forever family of her own.

Kristi is really affectionate with her foster family and gives the sweetest doggie kisses! She also gets along very well with her foster Collie siblings. She loves to initiate play with them and especially enjoys tossing around squeaky toys. We’re sure that Kristi would love having a dog sibling (or two!) of her very own in her forever family!

When Kristi came to us, her coat was thin and sparse, and she was significantly underweight. Her fur is growing back in nicely now that she’s on a nutritious diet, but she’s still working on packing on quite a few more healthy pounds. Because of this, Kristi does get cold (especially with the winter weather we’ve been having lately) and enjoys wearing a cozy fleece vest to keep warm.

Kristi is doing great with her training, too! She is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and she’s learning commands quickly. Kristi hasn’t expressed much interest in leash walks yet, but we think that as she gains more weight and energy, and as the weather improves, she’ll be game to add walkies to her daily routine. At 1.5 years old, Kristi is still a puppy who needs monitoring and guidance for typical puppy behaviors, but we know that with a little effort and patience, she’ll be a perfectly proper Collie in no time!

If you’ve been looking for a sweet little girl who will give you lots of doggie kisses—and have the time and willingness to invest in helping Kristi to gain more self-confidence—Kristi just might be the perfect pup for you! Fill out an Adoption Application for her today!
