My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kimball is a timid boy who will need some time to come around and get out of his shell. He was a stray dropped off here at the shelter at the beginning of January 2024. Unfortunately, he was never claimed. He has been looked after here by the staff and with further testing it was discovered he tested positive for F.I.V. It's a common virus picked up from being outside that affects the immune system. With time, patience, and extra TLC Kimball will open more and you will get the chance to see his charming self.

If you are interested in an animal you’ve seen on our website, you can call 519-833-2287 or send an email to learn more about them. You can also stop by the shelter to meet the animal in person. It may take a few visits to find the animal that is a perfect match for you.

You can stop by the shelter Monday through Sunday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.

You may wish to call the shelter before visiting to confirm the location and availability of the animal you would like to meet. The UCHS staff can let you know if the animal is currently at the shelter or at one of our remote locations, such as a foster home, local pet supply store or our Thrift Shop.
