My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Though painfully timid, Lily yearns for affection like no other. Despite her traumatic past, not an ounce of resentment resides in her gentle spirit. She desperately needs a compassionate home that will be slow to frustrate and quick to comfort. While apprehensive at first, she gets along swimmingly well with other dogs. Her favorite time is at night when she can finally relax and snooze soundly beside her foster parent. Abandoned in a callous manner, new experiences intimidate Lily. But with patience and reassurance, her sweet and submissive nature shines through. She's a calm soul who asks little and deserves so much.

Lilly is in foster care, not located at the shelter. Please submit an application at bastropshelter.com for consideration.

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
