My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

He's playful, he's handsome, he's dog friendly, he loves people, he's cuddly, he's a good boy, he wants to be your everything...... meet RICKY!
RICKY is a young, sweet soul with a heart as big as his personality. He's known for his friendly demeanor, always ready to greet you with a wagging tail. Despite his shy nature, he warms up quickly and his goofiness shines through. Ricky's energy is contagious, always up for playtime. But playing is tiring and after all that play, Ricky turns into a cuddle bug. He loves to curl up next to you, his gentle nature makes him a perfect companion. Why adopt Ricky? He's ready to be your loyal best friend, your playmate and your cuddle buddy. Ricky is now in foster care so if you're interested, submit an application on line!

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
