A'Rhea and her sister Jewels recently joined us from a home where they were loved. We can see it in the way they carry themselves, open to pets from strangers, bedazzled name tags on their collars, coats that shine in the sun.
They're both easy, quiet, relaxed guests at the shelter. We rarely have dogs stay in the same kennel, but these two are bonded and take comfort in sharing a space and coiling up together.
They keep their kennel tiny and are nearly house-trained, if they're not already there. They love walks and exploring and feeling the warmth of the sun on their coats. They're playful and engaging and would likely do well with other dogs. We'd put them at a 6/10 in terms of playfulness and a 15/10 in terms of wide-eyed, good-to-the-bone sweetness.
We've not seen they with children, but they're so easygoing, they'd likely do well with little ones, too.
