My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Gage. My three littermates and I were eight weeks old when we were rescued from a carport in Leisure World. We were really scared and very hissy. I came a long way and became friendly and affectionate, was even OK with being picked up, and enjoyed being petted. I was adopted along with another kitten named Ipo and after just a few days in our new home, we escaped through a window. That was over two years ago. No one was able to find us but I was recently trapped by another rescue and my microchip brought me back to SBACC. I hope they can find Ipo and bring him back too. It’s taking me a while to adjust to being back at SBACC but I’m starting to relax and get more comfortable and I also enjoy getting pets. I’m going to need a quiet home and a Mom or Dad with lots of patience who will give me plenty of time to adjust to a new home.

Dog adoptions include a written application and an on site interview. All family members, including other resident dogs, must meet the new dog.

The adoption process for cats and kittens includes:
A detailed application.
An interview with the potential adopter(s).
And a home visit, in some circumstances.

To ensure the best possible match for our cats and kittens, all applications are reviewed by our adoption committee and determination can take up to 48 hours.

We are an all-volunteer, no-kill, non-profit animal shelter formed in 1986 to find homes for the dogs, cats lost within our city limits. We are a California non-profit 501-C3 corporation # 33-0192138 so all donations are tax-deductible.
