DOROTHY was a stray doggy who ended up in our county's over crowded high kill shelter in Las Cruces, NM on January 13, 2024 and was never claimed by her human family! We saw her pic 9 days later and pulled her out there and placed her to live in a temporary quiet, calm foster home (in Silver City, NM). SHE CANNOT STAY IN THE FOSTER HOME PAST FEB. 8TH.
DOROTHY has been spayed, is current on all vaccinations and is microchipped. She is being leash trained and is almost completely house trained. She has medium energy and loves to learn! She would do well with other medium energy medium and small dogs and older children. We do not know about cats. SHE IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND FOSTER TO ADOPT. We do not know her history and the foster home doesn't have any dogs, cats or children, so we do not know how she would do, although her foster mom believes she would be great if they were not hyper, young puppies, or very young children. Cats? Can't say.
DOROTHY has medium energy but is young (2 yrs) so she loves to play, chase balls and walk on leash. She is almost completely house trained and is being leash trained (she wears a harness/vest as well as her collar with her ID tags, which are mandatory for PDR). She rides very well in a car, is fine in a metal crate/kennel to nap or sleep. She has been spayed, is current on all vaccinations and is microchipped.
DOROTHY is a smart girl and loves attention, companionship and acting silly!
PDR promoted pre-adoption sleepovers to qualified adopters. We do not ship or transport our doggies and require all other pets in the home to be spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations.
