Rescue FAQs

Puppy Dog Ranch speaks for those who have no voice and act for those who have no choice. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity. We rescue, rehabilitate and re-home the abandoned, abused, neglected, injured, senior and special needs dogs and dogs living in kill shelters and throughout New Mexico. We are a no-kill, no cage rescue, run from our two home ranch rescue & sanctuaries -- 7+ acres Sanctuary in Arenas Valley, NM and our second location in Las Cruces, NM on 3+ acres. In addition to our adoptable dogs, we care for 25+ dogs who will we look for loving homes for or who will live forever in our sanctuaries. We care for an average of 30-40 dogs daily. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit private NO KILL NO CAGE rescue located at our Home Rescue Ranch in Las Cruces/Radium Springs, New Mexico. Our original home Rescue Ranch location is in Arenas Valley, New Mexico. Since 2009 we are run 100% by unpaid volunteer and are funded solely by donations and grants. We are proud of our stringent adoption guidelines which allows us to continue our 99% adoption success rate!

We are relocating so we are not able to take in any dogs at this time.During the transition, we will concentrate on our senior and special needs rescues. WE ARE OPEN WITH LIMITED HOURS BY APPOINTMENT.

Additional adoption info

Please call Laurie West at (575) 313-7232 with questions, for more information or for an Adoption Application to be emailed to you. We match our dogs' personalities and energy levels to potential adopters' lifestyles and continue to have a 99% adoption success rate. Once the Adoption Application is approved, we've had a telephone interview and home and yard photos are received, we encourage a meet and greet at our Rescue Ranch (location depends on where the rescued dog is currently living) and if that is successful, a 3 day sleepover prior to adoption. We do not transport our dogs but will adopt them out of state if the adopter makes the time and care to travel to our Ranches.
