My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nikki (fka PeeWee) was found starved inside a box abandoned on the side of a road. She was in very bad shape and really didn't think she would make it. Her BCS was only 1/9- a skeleton dog only weighing 11 lbs.
The vet suspected a blockage and did exploratory surgery but couldn't find anything. She was spayed while under. Two weeks later Nikki threw up a ribbon of a pacifier clip which has been in her tummy for who knows how long. Thank God!

Nikki is now a healthy and happy little girl who would love to find her own loving forever home.
At her foster home she lives with other dogs that range between a 8 lbs to 50 lbs and has done well will all of them. She especially loves to play with a male Boxer/Staffie mix who is 3 years old.
We are not sure how she does with cats since she hasn't been around any.
She is very playful but loves to cuddle and nap next to her humans.
We prefer for Nikki to go into a home with older children.

Nikki is very smart. She is already house-trained and crate-trained. She went through basic training with Lionheart K9 training and knows how to heel, sit, down, stand, here, leave it, drop it, crate, place, off.
She comes with 5 private lessons with Lionheart K9 training for her new family to help with the transition. These lessons can be in person with the trainer in Westminster, MD, or virtual.
She loves treats and is easy to train. This girl needs daily walks to drain her energy and also have her brain stimulated with food puzzles or "find it" treat games. This helps her from becoming frustrated and be a happy girl.

Nikki is purebred American Pitbull Terrier (100% per DNA test result) who currently weighs 35 lbs. She is 10 months old. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and is on heartworm prevention, and also micro-chipped.

Additional adoption info

You may request an adoption application by sending an email to: NeedfulSoulsDogRescue@gmail.com

We do not accept the online application. We require additional information on our adoption application.

Adoption fees apply depending on the age of the dog, but range between $200 (seniors) and $350 per dog. Puppies under the age of 6 months require a spay/neuter deposit.

We require reference and vet checks along with a home visit before we consider adopting any of our dogs by a signed contract.
Our dogs are cared for in private foster homes and are NOT in a shelter set up or public facility to visit. Once the adoption has been approved, a meet and greet with a dog can be scheduled. If it is a good fit, the adoption can then be finalized.
