My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who doesn't love a good two-for-one deal?! And though they look almost identical and may sometimes resemble a two-headed cat, Wendy and Winnie are two separate gorgeous gray ladies with distinct personalities.

Winnie is the slightly sassier of the two, and will give you what she thinks is an intimidating glare if you wake her up from a nap...really, she's just a cutie who is totally relatable! Wendy is the more relaxed one who is acclimating nicely to their new colony room and really enjoys being pet. She's trying to set a good example for her sister to show her that being social can be a good thing! These 1-year-olds were both love bugs when living with the person who found them outside before coming to us, so we think they'd do much better in a nice, calm home than in the crazy shelter environment. All they need is a chance.

Since they are bonded and do better together, Wendy and Winnie are available for the adoption donation of one cat. They're both spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Fill out an application at the sanctuary or www.secondchanceas.org/adopt (Inquiries on online listings don't constitute an application)

2.

Interview

We will call your veterinarian and personal references. We'll also call you if we have questions or need more information.

3.

Approve Application

We will approve or deny the application. You may be approved to adopt, but not necessarily the same animal you originally applied for.

4.

Meet the Pet

This may be done before applying. You'll be asked to sign an adoption contract and to make a certain donation amount, rather than a set fee.

Additional adoption info

We are passionate about pairing animals in need with loving families who would best suit their individual needs. NOTE: You do not have to apply for a specific animal on your application. You can submit it as a "pre-application" for a certain size, age or breed of animal, and if approved, we can contact you if a possible match arrives at the shelter.
