My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Reggie is a short and stocky, six year old,  micro American Bully who wants to be your one and only carpet potato. He is not dog reactive but can be possessive food, toys and people so we recommend he be an only dog and given what we know of his history he deserves to have this be his time to be number one.

Reggie originally lived outside so coming in to foster where he now lives inside with other dogs has sparked his anxiety as everything has been new to him. Since he’s come into foster he’s been potty trained, crate trained, knows basic commands such as sit, stay, leave it and walks well on a leash. He absolutely loves the outdoor sprinklers, water from the hose and sunbathing on the patio. It took him 6 months but once he figured out how to use the dog cots outside and conquered his fear of getting on and off on his own, you can usually find him on one catching some rays. We don’t believe Reggie experienced toys prior to coming to foster, but he sure has learned to appreciate them, it’s been fun watching him experience a lot of his “firsts”. He’s a great dog, both curious and loving who can take his time to learn to trust,  but with a little guidance, a lot of patience, and love he would be the best companion. In general he’s a very laid back dog who loves to lounge. He wouldn’t be a great hiking buddy due to he suffers some arthritis and can be a little unstable on his back feet but he’s content just being with his people.

Reggie's adopters must be 100% committed to loving him for the rest of his years.   Reggie is neutered, vaccines updated and microchipped.    Reggie’s adoption fee of $250 helps with the medical needs of the rescue. If you live in the Phoenix metro area, and think Reggie could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption   application   *.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoption is a lifetime commitment. After an application and a verbal interview is completed and it is determined that the adoption is a compatible match, a contract is signed with specific guidelines. An adoption fee (usually between $250-$500) to help off-set medical, feeding and Rescue costs is collected. The contract states that at any time the adoption does not work out, the dog is to be returned to our Rescue group for alternate placement. The dog is not to be 'given away' or 'rehomed' or 'taken to the pound'. If there are other dogs in the home, they must meet prior to adoption. All family members in the household have to agree to the adoption. No dog is to be adopted as a 'gift'. No out of state adoptions.
