My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gemini came into rescue with an old injury that required her back leg to be amputated. Despite having just three legs, she's a total champ, hopping around with a style all her own. Nothing can slow her down, and she's as happy and energetic as ever. She's super sweet but a bit on the shy side, preferring quiet hangouts and cuddle sessions over big, noisy crowds. She is nervous in new situations with new people, but once the petting starts, she warms up fast!
She's a total social butterfly with other dogs. She loves their company and would be overjoyed to have a furry friend to play with. Imagine their fun together, hopping around and exploring the world.
Her gentle spirit reminds us to slow down and appreciate the little things in life. She's all about spreading love and kindness, and she's got a heart of gold that's impossible to resist. She's always up for a cuddle and a wag of her tail, especially if you bring along a four-legged (or three-legged) friend for her to play with!

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
