Rescue FAQs

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
We serve Huntsville, AL and the surrounding North Alabama counties.
  • 1. Submit Application
  • 2. Interview

Additional adoption info

Adopters fill out an application, talk to an adoption counselor, sign a contract, and pay an adoption fee which is a donation to help pay vet bills.
