My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Loves water and agility work

Sailor, the brainiac pup, is on a quest to conquer the world with his smarts and charm! This curious canine thrives on spreading joy, struts like a boss on walks, and is a pro at making people pals. To keep his tail wagging, Sailor dreams of a cozy home with a yard to explore, a bunch of loving humans giving him all the attention, and a routine to stick to. He's a pro at commands and is all about agility fun and splashing in the water.

Sailor's a breeze to train, a chill buddy indoors, but watch out - he's an extrovert who gets a buzz from new places,  and meeting new folks. Oh, and don't forget his musical talents - this songbird is looking for a spacious home where he can belt out his favorite tunes without disturbing the neighbors!

Sailor is good with older, respectful kids and dogs who are older and calm - he just wants a mature and  peaceful environment.

Age: 8 years

WT:  60 lbs

Temperament: Good with older respectful kids, dogs that are older and calm or small and calm with slow introduction.

Vetting: neutered, up to date on vaccines, HW negative

Training: House trained, crate trained, knows several commands

For questions, please email adopt@doggieharmony.org

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

We are 100% volunteer/foster based, so we do ask that you complete an adoption application in order for us to schedule a phone interview.

2.

Interview

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you to determine if dog is a good fit for your lifestyle and home.

3.

Approve Application

We check vet and personal references to ensure previous dogs were well cared for, so please be thorough in providing this info.

4.

Home Check

This enables the dog to get to know you and your home and for us to suggest anything they may need to be successful in your home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

You would also pay the fee at this time, however, we offer a 2 week trial period before cashing your check. We will always take dogs back.

Additional adoption info

You will be asked to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/dh-adoption) and allow a home visit to ensure the pet is a good fit for your home/lifestyle.

We are primarily a placement service, so the adoption fees vary depending on each pet and what caretakers have invested medically and behaviorally to ensure they are adoption-ready.

Go meet their pets

Doggie Harmony does not hold regular adoption events, but follow our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/doggieharmony) for special events. We also encourage you to contact us about pets you may be interested in, as we are always willing to bring them to meet you.

We do not have a shelter, so please understand that we are only able to support animals with foster homes or donations toward short-term boarding.

More about this rescue

Doggie Harmony is a metro-Atlanta dog rescue group focused on finding the right homes for dogs in foster care or belonging to owners who wish to re-home them. Our core objective is to place these dogs before they are turned over to animal control facilities, where they may be euthanized. Lastly, Doggie Harmony supports spay/neuter, wellness, and training to help keep or place dogs. This includes helping people find low cost resources and/or lending financial support where there's a qualified need.
