Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet our one and only, Ace of Hearts!
He came to us as Ace, and he won over our hearts with goofy antics and sweet cuddles...so naturally we added "of Hearts" to his name! Ace is only a year old and has plenty of puppy energy - he loves zooming around the yards and is even happier when his people run and play with him! He'll match your play and come running over to lean into you, soaking up all the lovings and neck scratches if you take a break. One thing to look out for? If you're not careful, he just might take the chance to dive his nose into your treat pouch and take a well-earned snack (or 10).
He may look big in some of his pictures, but Ace of Hearts is only 35 lbs and not expected to grow anymore. Ace tends to be shy on first dates, and can present as fearful with new people - but a few treats tossed his way gets the ball rolling quickly for new friendships! He has lived with dogs and cats previously, and would prefer a home with teens and up please. Ace's would love to find a home with a playful and confident dog to help boost his confidence around new people.

The first step in our adoption process is to submit an adopter profile through our website. We then encourage you to visit PARL at 34 Elbow Street and get to know the animals we have available. You do not need an appointment, and we invite you to visit us often. PARL’s goal is to assist you in finding your best match for a lifelong companion.
When you arrive, you’ll sign PARL’s visitor log, and staff will direct you to PARL’s cat rooms, small animal spaces, or dog kennels (depending on your preference.) We encourage you to spend time outside with the dogs, or petting our cats and small animals. Please ask questions -- that's why we're here.
If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, please come see us again! Chances are that we will have some new furry friends available for adoption, and one of them might be purr-fect for you!
