My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gentle, Loves kisses, Friendly, Affectionate:

Kira is a gorgeous gal who is lucky to be alive! She was found on the side of the road pacing around and crying for her kittens who had been brutally run over. When our volunteer saw her, she ran right into her arms, grateful that help had arrived. Sadly, her kittens couldn’t be saved but we are glad we could save her.

She is feeling much better now and looking forward to her next chapter in life! She is a lovely cat who appreciates being pet and would love a home where she will feel safe and loved forever.

If you would like to meet Kira the first step is to submit an Adoption Application. Once your application is approved a time to meet can be arranged with the foster.

Go meet their pets

At this time, Familiar Hearts Animal Society meetings are by appointment only.

We currently rely on our amazing web of generous fosters throughout the Philadelphia area and will do our best to make a meeting as convenient as possible for both human + animal.

Meetings will need to be coordinated through the foster of the animal you are interested in meeting.

More about this rescue

Mission Statement: To end the unnecessary suffering of homeless companion animals by serving as a refuge and enabling humans to provide them quality and compassionate homes.

Our Vision: Our mission is two-fold; we want to help abandoned pets and we want to help stop pet abandonment.

We operate using a network of kind hearted hands to help find homeless animals veterinary and behavior care and then match them with appropriate forever homes. We also strive to educate pet owners about resources they might utilize in order to best understand how to provide for their friends with furry paws, feathers or claws. We always do our best to help.
