My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Selma is a beautiful 2 year old Doberman looking for a semi active home. She is playful and energetic when she is outside with other dogs and knows it’s Netflix binge time when she is inside (hence her love for a bed or couch). She gets along with other dogs in her foster home.

She lives life like we all should: play hard and worry less. She would do well with a dog 40 lbs or more because of how she plays. No cats for Selma (very cat curious and may chase but redirects well). She will need a tall fence and yard in order to continue thriving.

Interested in learning more? Contact her foster mom Liz at 214-616-6128. Better yet, consider adopting her. Www.shelter2rescue.org.
Her adoption fee go towards the cost of her medical costs: heart worm testing , vaccinations, and spay. If you are interested in fostering a pet , please visit our website www.shelter2rescue.org to fill out an application

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We do our best to match up potential adopters with just the right pet as we want to ensure a lifelong placement for the rescued animal. Our adoption process includes an initial application, with home visit, reference and vet checks. If the match is a good one, we then have an adoption contract that is executed. We have a commitment not only to our adopted dogs, but also to the families that adopt them, and we are always available to help with the transition to a new home. We check in during the first few weeks to answer any questions or help with any issues - or to just give you someone to brag to about your new baby. We can't hear that too much!

More about this rescue

Shelter2Rescue Coalition is an all-volunteer rescue organization dedicated to the safe-rehoming of shelter animals. We started as a rescue facilitation organization, helping rural shelters publicize their at-risk dogs, thereby dramatically reducing the need to euthanize for space. Then, as we worked with more shelters, it became very apparent that if we could just buy the dogs up for euthanasia just a little more time, you could save even more lives. The 72-hour hold limit at most shelters just wasn't enough for most dogs to get out. Therefore, we expanded and built partnerships with boarding facilities, transport organizations and other nationwide rescues in order to be able to provide a temporary safe haven for dogs out of time. We have now expanded Shelter2Rescue Coalition to include our own adoption program. Since June 2007, through facilitation and adoption, Shelter2Rescue Coalition volunteers have saved over 2000 dogs and cats.
