Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please Meet Shimmy! She is a special girl that earned her name by shimming her tail when you come to see her! She came to us as a stray so we do not know much about her past. We do know that she has a hard time with her balance and hearing. Shimmy has been in a foster home where we have been learning more about her condition. Her foster mom says, "she is very friendly and a very special kitty. She's almost unaffected by noise. She's not always sure what direction a noise is coming from when she does investigate. Shimmy moves pretty slow, too: She can get on the couch but requires stairs for any further distances. She wants to perch by the windows. Shimmy loves to greet me when I get home and be by me both at work and leisure. She tolerates the dogs as long as they respect her space." Shimmy has been examined by multiple veterinarians and received several rounds of treatment. While we do not know the cause of her balance and hearing issues we do know that she is a happy cat that is ready to find her forever home! Due to Shimmy's challenges her adopter will need to sign a medical waiver stating that they know about her condition and will follow-up with their veterinarian for future care. If you have animals at home, we ask you practice a slow introduction when Shimmy is home. She is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and microchipped on her adoption day! Shimmy's adoption fee is $140. Please contact ECCHA with any other questions or fill out an application to meet this cutie! ADOPT! Don't shop!
