My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. My name is Gigi and I am a nice girl that needs to find a new person or family that will love me forever. I am approx. 7 years old and weigh 40 lbs. I was purchased as a puppy for my original owner. We spent 6 years together in NY, but unfortunately, he became ill and was sick the last 3 years of his life. During that time, I seldom left his side. I was so sad when my owner passed away. I went to live with his grandson and his family with young kids for 1 year but was recently surrendered to Penny Angels with the hope of finding a home that is a better fit for me. I was used to being with someone all the time, but in my 2nd home, that wasn’t always possible and it made me anxious. It would be best for me to find a home with older kids because of my shy nature when first meeting people. I am okay with cats. I get along well with other dogs and would like at least 1 doggie sibling in my new home. Hopefully my new owner will be able to spend quality time with me, too. I am adjusting well to being in Rescue and I look forward to finding another person and doggie friend to be my new best buddies.

I am spayed and up-to-date with my vaccinations. I am using a doggie door in Rescue during the day and will need to learn new rules in your home. (In my second home, I went to the door and ‘tapped’ on it when I needed to go outside to go potty, so I should adjust to changes pretty quickly.) I walk well using a harness. It would be good for me to lose a few pounds but I won’t be running marathons if that is your ‘thing’. If you can monitor my food portions and keep me semi-active, that would be a ‘win’ for us both. Do you have room in your heart for me?
