Tamera is a very bouncy and happy girl. She enjoys going for walks, sniffing her neighborhood, and greeting everyone who passes her. She loves to cuddle up next to you wherever you are whether on the couch or the bed. She enjoys laying down in the sun and watching you do your daily activities. She thoroughly enjoys any and all toys especially ones with squeakers but will shred them if not up to her standards. She does well when alone in her crate and may cry for a few minutes but then settles and sleeps the day away. She enjoys going for car rides and loves to look out the window. Tamera is part of our "Best Paw Forward" Program that provides behavior assistance and training as she transitions into her forever home!

To adopt visit us at 1101 Western Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15233 during the Adoption Center Hours below.

Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor (or volunteer) will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's history and needs, behavior assessment and any volunteer / staff comments.

When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information. This process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

What you will need in order to adopt:

A valid PA state ID with your current address.

We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.

Certain animals require additional steps.

Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express and Discover are not accepted as payment.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to hold or accept a deposit for animals. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home.
