Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Violet is the kind if kitty who loves to be near you but doesn't always want to be picked up. She enjoys sitting in the window and watching the birds and lounging on soft things. Violet showed up in a feral cat colony about 3 years ago and the caretaker realized that she was not feral & she was declawed on all four paws. She took her to the shelter which is where Cat's Cradle rescued her and put her in a foster home. Since this is all we know about her, we're not sure exactly how old she is. Now that she is on medication for her hyperthyroidism, she looks and feels much better. Her fur is very soft, and she has gained weight although she will always be a very petite girl with tiny paws.
She would do best in a home with no other animals and no small children. She prefers a quiet place where she can be her sweet, introverted self.

Please see our website: www.catscradleva.org for a copy of our adoption application and adoption contract. Adoption fees vary, but generally run around $135.
All our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, and fully vetted. We have an adoption center in Harrisonburg, but we also make extensive use of foster homes until adoption.
We generally prefer indoor only homes, and our contract specifies that the cat(s) will not be de-clawed.
We have some cats that cannot be adopted into an indoor situation. For these, we seek safe barn or out-building locations.

More about this rescue
Founded in 1998, Cat’s Cradle seeks to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs in Shenandoah Valley through aggressive spay/neuter of owned animals and TNR (trap/neuter/release) of feral cats.
We also have a network of foster parents and an active adoption program for cats. In 2009 we opened an adoption center in Harrisonburg. We do not euthanize for space.
Please visit our website at: www.catscradleva.org for more information.
