My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max is a special cat who is looking for someone who will love him and make him the center of their universe. Max is a strong willed boy who needs someone who has experience with demanding cats who want to be their shadow.

Max is a loveable cat who is very affectionate. There is also some indication of Max having had some harsh treatment – Max sometimes tries to push the limit and will dash up and nip you to show his displeasure or to get your attention. He will then dash back a few feet, duck his head and look at you sideways, almost like he is waiting to see if you were going to punish him.

He currently lives in a bedroom in his foster home that has no other cats in it.  He loves to snuggle at night and lay in his foster mom’s arms.  He likes to watch the birds outside and dive after the light projected on the walls by passing cars headlights at night.  He is a purr machine and occasionally talks softly.

We don’t know much about Max’s early years, but he is what you might call “head shy”.  He does better if you reach to pet him from behind or the side because he frequently ducks his head when he sees your hand coming from the front.

Max has excellent litter box etiquette and prefers dry cat food and Churro type snacks (and possibly a Cheeze It or two).
You won’t find a more loving and devoted cat than Max.  He just needs an experienced home that wants a fur-ever buddy who will be his world.

More about this rescue

Mission Statement: The Cat Network is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit, 501(c) (3), no-kill and life-enhancing cat rescue group. Since 1991, we have rescued and placed thousands of abandoned, abused, stray and shelter cats and kittens in St. Louis, Missouri and surrounding areas. After their rescue, the cats and kittens are provided medical care, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, micro-chipped and spayed or neutered. Cats and kittens are kept in foster care and then placed in loving permanent homes whenever possible.
