My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Meet Ash: The Furry Feline Waiting for His Forever Home"

Hello there, I'm Ash, a handsome 2-year-old male Domestic Longhair with a magnificent coat of striking grey fur. My journey to the shelter was a bit rough, but I'm grateful to be here now, thanks to the rescue partner who transferred me.

I may seem like a laid-back cat, but don't let that fool you. I have a discerning personality and know exactly what I want. I can be a bit shy at first, but once I warm up to my people, I will crave their attention and happily sit for pets all day long. I love to have my long hair brushed and brushed. My ideal home would be quiet and patient, with humans who understand that I'm still learning to trust and will give me the time and space I need to feel comfortable.

I may be independent, but I am also a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side. I get along well with other cats and would prefer a household with adults or seniors. I promise to be a lap animal and provide you with endless charm and love once I know you and trust you.

If you're looking for a quiet and loving furry friend, I believe I would be a purrfect fit. Come meet me at the shelter and see for yourself just how special I am. I'm patiently waiting for my forever home, and I hope it will be with you. Consider making me a part of your family and let's make unforgettable memories together.

I am fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go home with you, so please come visit me!

More about this shelter

Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.

Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.

The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.

The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.

Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.

The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
