My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Delilah, a one-year-old Labrador Pit Bull Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a wagging tail just waiting to meet you! I may have had a bit of a rough start, but I'm ready to find my forever home with a loving family who will cherish me.

When I first arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from a partner shelter in Oklahoma, the staff discovered that I tested positive for Heartworm. But don't worry, that doesn't dampen my spirits! The wonderful folks here believe that the best place for me to undergo treatment and recover is in a warm and caring home like yours.
If you choose to welcome me into your family, you won't be alone in this journey. The clinic staff will be there every step of the way, providing guidance, answering any questions you may have, and offering support throughout my treatment process.

The treatment typically takes about three months, during which I'll need some simple at-home care to ensure my safety and comfort. And after that, there's a follow-up test six months later to make sure everything is A-OK.

I'm thrilled to say that the Heartworm treatment has a high success rate, and the staff here is confident that I'll make a full recovery! Woohoo! And just so you know, Heartworm is only spread through mosquitoes, so you won't have to worry about transmission from me to other pets.

So, if you're looking for a sweet and friendly companion to brighten up your days, look no further! I'm Delilah, and I can't wait to be a part of your loving forever family. Let's make memories together!

For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you.

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
