My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lobo, a 3-year-old male shepherd mix weighing 60 pounds, is a well-behaved and crate-trained companion. We rescued him and his father, Oso, from a high kill shelter in Texas. He rarely barks and is house trained, displaying good behavior both indoors and outdoors in his foster home. While he may bark outside with other dogs, he generally sleeps peacefully in his crate at night and travels well in the car. Lobo is selective with other dogs, preferring to be the only one in the home, with another female of his size, or with his father Oso. Cats and small dogs are not suitable companions for him in a home. He would do fine in a home with kids and teenagers who understand how to interact with a larger dog.
With a moderate activity level, Lobo enjoys walks of varying lengths. A fenced yard or active lifestyle is essential and he isn't trained to be off-leash. Lobo responds to basic commands like sit, stay (sometimes), come, heel (for leash walking), and off (for not jumping on people). After overcoming heartworms through comprehensive treatment, he is now in excellent health. His ideal forever home would be with a single person, a couple, or a family with older children, where he can be the sole recipient of attention and care, with his dad Oso, or a large female dog. Lobo is ready for a loving home to cherish and support him throughout his life. Could that be you?

DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.

***LOBO IS FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information.

Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).

Our adoption fee is $350 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). If you adopt him with his father Oso, you get both for just 1 adoption fee of $350 + transport & health certificate fees. This adoption fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.

More about this rescue

Pep's Pals Rescue is committed to rescuing shelter dogs and street dogs and finding them forever homes. All dogs deserve to live their lives showered with the love they deserve.
Pep's Pals is named after Pepper, a lab who gave so much love to the founder of Pep's Pals and her family. We carry on his legacy by loving and caring for the dogs who need to know what it is like to be a part of a family. Pepper was kind to every human and fur friend he met. We believe that's how Pepper would want us to carry out our mission.
