My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Judah ACCT-A-157385! Judah is a 3-year-old female who came in as an owner surrender on 7/27. Judah is no stranger to the shelter as she was here back in February of 2024 as an owner surrender due to the owner no longer being able to care for her.

Behavior Notes:

Per staff 7/28/25: “Super friendly girl, likes head pets!”

Per owner 7/27/25: “Friendly likes to be rubbed and very affectionate. Medium to high energy, hides from strangers, friendly with children, defensive with dogs.”

Per staff 2/15/24: “Will roll over for belly rubs! Was so excited for love and attention that he nearly knocked over his water dish! SUPER sweet cat! Beautiful eyes too!”

Per staff 2/11/24: “Attempted initial intake exam, Pt. allowed handling when placing Pt. in feral box. I moved Pt. to exam table at which time he began hissing and growling, presented with dilated pupils and attempted to swat me. Pt. was too fractious to safely handle further, I was able to get Pt. back in feral box, placed TTA slip with kennel card and began Gabapentin”

Per Owner 2/10/24: “She's independent and comes around when comfortable, very vocal, loves lasers. She love bites, when shes getting pets. Skeptical with strangers and children, shy with other cats, outgoing with dogs. Be authoritive or she will try to be aggressive toward you.”

Medical Notes:

On 7/28/25: Judah was found to be in good general health other than stained teeth and was noted to be “QAR, growling”

On 2/12/24: Judah was found to be in good general health and was noted to be “QAR growling and hissing during exam.”

ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services. Our animal control officers provide service over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 17,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.

In addition to animal control and sheltering, ACCT Philly is open 365 days a year for pet adoptions. ACCT Philly also supports a foster care program where community members provide temporary homes for sheltered animals and one of the (if not THE) most extensive rescue partnership program in the country where approved rescue partners accept ACCT Philly animals into their adoption programs.
