My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fluffy’s person surrendered him to our center saying they didn’t want to take care of him anymore. He’s a senior dog and needs extra care and really depended on his person to be there for him. Now, he’s completely heartbroken. Fluffy has a collapsed trachea, a grade 5 heart murmur, and an ulcer affecting his eye. His care can be managed, but he needs a special person who will see him through. He is very sweet and friendly. He can be around other dogs, ideally other seniors, or gentle canines that understand he hasn’t got a lot of desire to play.

Famous Fido was founded by Gloria Lissner who has been independently rescuing dogs from the death rows of kill shelters since 1975. She officially opened Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance in July 2010. All our dogs recieve the necessary vet care and treatment is never refused. Famous Fido has developed a full merchandise line, starting with our all natural dog treats to support our rescue efforts. Our products are available for purchase on our website. The mission of FFRAA is to form an alliance with similar organizations to increase community awareness, public consciences and create a No Kill Nation.
