My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kallie & Sallie are a bonded pair of 4-year-old who were surrendered to HBHR by their owner. They are both standard sized beagles with no extra weight to lose!

They are both house broken with the use of a dog door and leave things that do not belong to the pack alone. They do play and with the other beagles in the pack but did not do well when totally separated from each other.

Sallie Has a beautiful silver coat that is sometimes called Blue or Lavender.
She may appear to be the shyest at first, but she is more outgoing and vocal. Sallie loves leading the pack in a sing-along! She has a beautiful bay!

Kallie has had trouble with recurrent ear infections and itchy skin. She has been eating plant-based kibble with small amount of canned food with good results. She has a beautiful faded black saddle on her back.

This pair loves to cuddle with their human, one at a time or together! They will do great with a family that has plenty of love to go around!

1.
Submit Application

The first step in our adoption process is the completion of our on-line application to adopt. The application can be found on our website.

2.
Approve Application

Go to our website www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org and click on the link "About Adoption." After receiving your application, we will contact you.

3.
Home Check

Once your application is approved, a volunteer will bring the beagle to your home to meet your family and pets, and approve the adoption..

4.
Meet the Pet

You are invited to attend our monthly meet and greets without completing an application, but no adoption can take place before applying.

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is for interested parties to complete the on-line adoption application found on our website. We require an adoption fee ($300 for purebred beagles and coon hounds; $250 for mixes; $200 for special needs or seniors 8 years +; and $350 for pups age 8 mo. or younger) and an adoption contract. ALL dogs will be vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoption!

We typically have meet & greet events on the second Sunday of each month, from noon to 3:00 p.m. and will always bring several of the rescued beagles to that event, so look up the location of the month on our website, and come meet some adorable beagles! We also periodically hold special activities, and occasionally attend Houston-area adoption events which will be listed on our "events" section of our website. Our quarterly newsletter is published on our website at www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org
