Tuxedo is a 10mo Shih Tzu who weighs around 13 lbs. Tuxedo is the gentleman of your dreams, always dressed to the 9's. He loves chill days and nights snuggling, chewing on bones, and playing with his tennis balls and toys. He also loves to play with his friend, outside and inside. He is learning personal space with the cats (and squirrels), but he's still trying to befriend them. He is crate-trained. Because he worries about ruining his formal wear, he does not always ask to go outside if it is raining or wet. He is still working on his housebreaking. Tuxedo is a very sweet dog and might be just the one for you. Shih Tzu dogs HAVE to be groomed so you need to be prepared for consistent grooming if you get a Shih Tzu like Tuxedo. Please note that we do not recommend Tuxedo to families with children under 5 because he still has sharp teeth and nails.
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.
All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
