My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Fancy is at the Petco Mira Mesa adoption center ***

Solid black, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/3/23, #18880

Cats: maybe mellow felines
Dogs: unknown
Children: cat-savvy older kids

Note: Usually, a team of volunteers puts together our rescue cats' stories. Being a clever kitty, Fancy has crafted her very own letter she wishes to share with you.

Meowdy, New Friend!

Whew, that was a close one! One day I was living on the streets near the border-getting picked on by bigger cats and stalked by coyotes-when a GS (Good Samaritan) saved me! Lucky for me, this GS was smitten with my sweet and social kitty self, scooping me up and putting me in her car right before the big storm hit. She couldn't bring me home because of her cat-aggressive dogs, and it was super early in the morning, so she drove around with me for a few hours until she could reach someone she knew in TRH (The Rescue House). (She is a true kitty hero, going above and beyond to make sure that I had a bright future!) I have been relaxing with TRH while I wait for you to find me!

As you can see in my glamor shots, I'm a tiny panther of a girl with huge ojos. (Ojos means "eyes" in Spanish-I'm bilingual from my life at the border. I purr in English and Spanish!) I'm obsessed with pets and cuddles. Cat trees and comfy beds are also fabulous! Netflixing on the couch by your side is my idea of the perfect afternoon. Ideally, I would split my days between playing with toys and canoodling with you. (Like most teenagers, I like to party!) You can pick me up, but don't be offended if I wriggle away to go exploring. I have a healthy curiosity and can't be held back for long. As a warning, I am a talker! So, tell me all the gossip and chisme! Visitors? You can be sure I'll be poking around to see who's here. In terms of getting down on the playground, wands are my favorite-I like that there's a human on the other end of the stick thingy! After food, people are number one in my book! In fact, I'll keep you company while you shower just to make sure you make it out okay. (Of course, I'll be nice and dry outside the shower. I don't like to do that "bathing" thing you humans like to do- yuck!)

Because I was bullied by larger cats while homeless, I think I'd be most happy as an only kitty. Do you currently cohabitate with a kind and mellow kitty? Hmmm ... I am willing to give it a try. I did okay with the two felines and a parrot in the last foster home. When you reach out to TRH, let them know, and we can figure it out all together! I haven't yet met doggos or kiddos, so they're unknown entities. Perhaps respectful versions of both might be okay? (Although no small kids, por favor, because I sometimes give love bites, and I don't want to upset any tiny humans.)

I look forward to meeting-and cuddling with-you while purring sweet nothings in your ear in both English and Spanish!

Besos,
Fancy
