My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Allergies can cause so many problems for the two-legged family members but it's always a bad thing for us four-legged members! It almost always means we're going to be looking for a new home where we can be as loved and spoiled as we were before the allergies showed up! I was doing great for several years but when the littlest member developed those things, even though I really loved her, I'm here looking for my new furever home. So, if you are looking for a sweet, older gentleman of the four-legged kind, please check me out. As I said, I loved the little one and have even lived with small and large dogs, a ferret, and those tantalizing fish! I'm mellow enough that other cats will be okay too once we get to know each other. I don't ask for much other than the basics of love, attention, a warm place to nap, and good food with plenty of water, oh, and of course a litterbox - I'm good with that. If you're looking to add a nice companion to your home, come and meet me and we'll see how things go. Even the vet commented on how easy-going I was while she poked and prodded on me! However, after that exam, another problem came up because I was diagnosed with diabetes but my foster mom is working to get me on whatever I need to stabilize that. I've been updated on my shots, tested for FeLV/FIV, microchipped, and I was declawed on my front paws when I was much younger. I'm a handsome tabby with the classic bullseye pattern, just entering my golden years at 12 years old and have lots of love to give in return for the same. I'm just waiting for you now!May 2, 2024, 3:28 pm

More about this rescue

Founded in 1993, Second Chance Companions is a 501(c) 3 non-profit pet organization dedicated to helping animals in SW Washington and the Portland Metro area.

We are a humane, no-kill organization staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers.

Although we do not run an independent shelter, we feed, care for, adopt out, and spay & neuter as many animals as possible. In addition, we educate the community and are always seeking volunteers and resources that help us to accomplish our mission.

We have a small number of foster homes available, but also work with private owners who keep their pets while looking for homes for them.
