My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beech
4 month old female
Flat Coated Retreiver Mix
Large size (>60 lb est.)

Beech is such a sweetie! She loves to be held and loves getting pets and snuggles. She is doing great with potty training, using a doggy door for outside access when she needs to use the bathroom. She was born in the foster program so has received good nutrition and socialization her entire life. She had 8 siblings and a foster doggy sister, so she loves to wrestle and play with other dogs. She has also had good interactions with cats and horses, so will do well in a home with other animals. She has been around children and done well, but Beech is a large dog so caution should be taken with smaller children.

She has been spayed, microchipped, and is UTD on all her shots and is ready to find her forever home!

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
