My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jayde is a beautiful 6-year old female kitty who was surrendered by her owner on February 15, 2024 because of a work schedule which didn't permit her to spend the time with Jayde and to be given the attention that Jayde wanted so badly.

Jayde has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a cute chubby face with large golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers.

This gorgeous kitty may look familiar to some of our volunteers and Facebook fans since Jayde had been in our shelter in October 2022 and was adopted from HSOV in March 2023.

Jayde has previously been kept indoors and is litterbox trained. Jayde has already been spayed. She was combo tested on November 29, 2022 and is negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm.

Jayde was given vaccinations on February 15, 2024. She weighs 8-9 lbs.

Updated photos of Jayde were taken on February 16, 2024 after Jayde was returned to our shelter and was re-introduced to our HSOV Open Cat Room where she is acclimating to her new environment after a year's absence.

We are also including photos were taken on February 13, 2023 when Jayde participated in our HSOV Valentine Kitty Photo Sessions .. Jayde was a resident in our HSOV Open Cat Room that day and had become quite the social butterfly. She got along well with the other kitties in that room and especially loved attention from her people friends. Jayde often would come running to the door to greet folks and then follow you around like a puppy dog. She also loved to lounge on a tall cat tree and do a little bird watching through the 'window on the world' in the Open Room.

Jayde had also become a 'shoulder kitty' and loved attention from our kennel techs/volunteers, so we were delighted to see her showing that behavior once again after she came back to us in February 2024.

Jayde has already been spayed, so she could leave the shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application. Jayde really needs to be back in a home with someone who would be home with her and could give her the attention/companionship that she wants and deserves.

Her previous owner told us that Jayde is good with other cats as well as dogs. She has not been around children so we don't know how she would react to youngsters. Jayde is frightened of vacuum cleaners (as are most kitties)! Jayde will hide to escape the big bad vacuum cleaners.

Jayde has been an exclusive indoor-only kitty so that would be a requirement for her new family. Jayde is faithfully litterbox trained.

Jayde has a habit of giving "love nips" and will occasionally give a swat to demand attention. Her favorite toys are catnip and mouse toys.

Jayde LOVES sleeping with her people friends and would love to find a special someone to be her new 'bed buddy'.

Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
