Chugs is a delightfully fun and energetic boy who came to Fuzzy Pawz when his people could not keep him. This guy is not only sweet and fun-loving but equally smart as well! He learns quickly and is VERY eager to please. He looks for direction from his people as if to ask “What do you want?” or “Is this okay?” He’s house-trained and crate-trained, but would rather sleep in your bed if he was allowed. This guy is a true cuddle bug—he comes up and puts his head nicely in your lap for pets, and maybe if he thinks you won’t notice, he will attempt to crawl in your lap. You’ll notice, but sometimes it’s just too sweet to resist.

Chugs has not been exposed to many things in his young life, so can be fearful of new experiences and new people. He’s learning every day and making progress. Chugs can get very protective of the women in his life; he will bark/growl at anyone who gets close to his lady (even someone else who lives in the home). He is young and eager to please so a family that is willing to put in the work would be best; or he would also do great in an all male household. He will not do well with kids in the home; a quieter home life with slow introductions to the big wide world would be best.

He also has some separation anxiety that his foster home is working with him on. He will cry for a bit when put in his crate but is not destructive. We will recommend he does not live in an apartment, since he can get kind of loud when he’s upset about being left. He does settle down and is now crating at night with little complaint. He does take comfort if someone is in the room with him, so sleeping by his family’s bedside might just be the answer. (His foster home cannot provide this for him, but his foster mom slept on the couch in the same room and he was okay).

Chugs is a big silly puppy that only wants love, attention, food, and play. What else is there? He would love a confident, happy dog sibling to play with who will tolerate his goofiness and sometimes overzealousness. He does get along with other dogs, instigating play, and listens to corrective action when he’s playing rougher than they prefer. He is big and still growing, so he might be too much for a small dog. His favorite game is tug, whether with people or a doggie playmate.

Chugs will be a wonderful companion for any active family who’s willing to put in a little effort and patience to help him grow up and grow into himself with confidence. He has so much potential with his smarts and willingness to please.

Go meet their pets

We do not have a facility but depend on the use of foster homes to provide loving temporary homes for the dogs we save. You can meet each pet through it's contact information on it's posting.

More about this rescue

We are a group of animal lovers banded together to rescue unwanted dogs and cats that are in shelters and pounds located throughout Idaho. Our non-profit rescue places each animal into our foster home program while we search for forever homes for them. We supply all vet care, food, toys, bedding; really anything they need while in our care.

We focus on those animals that are considered “hard to adopt” for various reasons; like kennel stress, having a black coat, being over 8 years old, etc. Often a foster home rather than a shelter environment helps give many of these animals a second chance at the life they deserve!

We relay on community donations and individuals willing to be foster care givers in order to continue our work.
