Say hello to Chacho! He and his brother Chicho were surrendered when their family very sadly lost their home. These precious babies are extremely bonded and must only be adopted together and both boys will bond tightly with their people.NEITHER of these fellows can hold their lickers so you must love KISSES!! Their foster Mom works and they are crated while she is away and they have adjusted to that routine, however their very best life would be with a retired single woman or couple (very experienced with dachshunds) who can dote on them and give them lots of routine, love, and attention.
Chacho is the larger boy with lots of muscles and a deep dark dapple coat. He is a very sweet fellow who will equally charge out the doggie door to defend the yard from a possum or cuddle right up next to you and groom your arm and get belly rubs. He dearly loves toys BUT he is also an extreme toyminator and de-stuffer, so toy time is always monitored.
Both boys have been very consistant using a doggy door and do very well holding it in their crate when foster mom goes out. They must be crated together so will require a larger crate then a single doxie would so they have enough space. They would like to be bed dogs at night, but currently they are also crated together in the bedroom so they know their mom is nearby.
Chacho is a charmer which serves him well with all the mischief he can invent. He has been busted on the doggie camera more than once letting himself out of his crate and seen carring the slippers around and sorting thru the trash can and stealing food from the pantry or any table when backs are turned. He is a scallywag!! But for all of his shenannigans, this boy is a handsome little Casanova who will melt your heart with a look.
Both boys are friendly with every person they have met and with the other small dogs they have been living with. They insist on being the center of attention so because of this would be easier as the only dogs. Also no young children in the house (teens might be ok). No cats or pocket pets!! They will require a securly fenced house....so not an apartment, condo or duplex. They will also require a very secure backyard with a 6 foot wooden fence and no gravel or debris they can chew on.
If you are looking for a very sweet, handsome pair of loving young brothers to be the center of your attention, please consider these fellows.

All Texas Dachshund Rescue, Inc., is made up of a group of volunteers whose primary goal is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home disabled and otherwise endangered Dachshunds who have found themselves homeless for one reason or another. It is our policy that no dogs will be adopted out without first being spayed or neutered, have had all vaccines updated, are heartworm negative, are on heartworm preventative, and have had all other health issues we consider important to the pet’s life addressed that we are able.
All incoming Dachshunds will be placed in temporary foster homes, where they will be evaluated while living indoors with the foster families in a safe and nurturing home environment, until such time as they are ready to be placed in a loving, adoptive, forever home.
