Joanna at For The Love Of Paws Pet Services says I am a cutie but I need some training classes to help me transition to a new home.
Force Free Dog Obedience Training classes are required to adopt me from Heart Prints Dog Rescue Society. This is non-negotiable!
Training classes are NOT part of our rescues adoption fee.

MAVERICK's BIO: ◦ While at our first meeting he seemed shy/timid, it did not take long for him to settle in and he is now a friendly dog who wants to be close to his foster parents.
◦ He really likes to cuddle with his foster parents but will also show independence by going to crate/bed (in the same room)for a nap.
◦ Really likes to play with his foster sister and her toys. They get along very well. They enjoy play wrestling and chasing each other around the backyard.
◦ Is fed twice a day but can be a fussy eater. Foster mom will on occasion need to feed him kibbles by hand to get him started. Improvement has been noted.
◦ Loves to have peanut butter & Greek yogurt on an enrichment licking mat.
◦ Still needs overall training, right now he is pretty good with sit,down and has started learning not to door dash.
◦ Has settled in well for sleeping in the crate at night and usually for 8hrs. Crate is in foster parents bedroom along with foster sister’s crate. Will get a treat to help with getting him into the crate. When he cried for the first 2 nights it did not take long for him to stop. In the morning after he goes outside he will fall back to sleep on foster parents bed along with foster sister.
◦ Still working on potty skills. Pee pads are around the house but after a couple of accidents he began to understand that outside was the preferred site to do his business. Unfortunately with the deep freeze there has been some regression. He does not tolerate the cold very well. He will start to raise his paws before he can get down to his business. He has been pretty good at using the pee pads but, again there has been a couple of accidents and we have been using the diaper belly band more often. Since the deep freeze started he has demonstrated that he has great bladder control, holding for more than 12hrs on occasion.
◦ We do not know how he will be when left alone as there has not been an occasion when both foster parents have left the house.
◦ Overall he will do best in a house that has patience for this almost 10th month old puppy. A house that is somewhat active and will take him for walks to burn off his energy. A house with another small dog would be great as he really likes to play.
