My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Freckles came to us from a rural downstate shelter. We believe she has rat terrier and chihuahua in her DNA. Even though Freckles' estimated age is 9-years old, she has an adorable puppy face. That face lights up when she is on squirrel watch. Her foster dad is careful to make sure the squirrels stay safe when Freckles is outside. We don't know anything about Freckles' past. We do know she is safe in our care until she finds the right home.

All our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes. This gives us the ability to really get to know the animals we have available and find them families that are a good fit for them based on their personalities. We do not have a shelter to visit the animals.

More about this rescue

We rescue animals from shelters where they may be put to sleep and also owner relinquished pets. We also provide pet therapy services, where we go to nursing homes with pets and provide educational programs to the general public. For more information, visit www.aear.org
