My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Lenny! I am your typical laid-back, easy going, mellow senior guy. I love going for walks and car rides, but I mostly want a cool comfy place to lay that I can call my own. I do get really excited to see and meet other dogs, but I prefer to be the only senior guy in my home. If your looking for someone to lend an ear or a paw or two, I'm your guy!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
