My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Riley, the sweet and mellow feline who's mastered the art of relaxation. She's an adult cat with a heart full of love and gentle nature make her an ideal companion for those seeking a serene and loving friend. She's content to spend her days napping in a sunbeam, or purring contentedly in your lap. Riley's love for quiet moments doesn't mean she's not up for playtime. Her easy-going personality makes her a joy to be around and she's ready to share her love with a family of her own.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
