My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweetheart is in search of their forever home.

Meet Pumpkin! We think she is a rottie-corgi mix. She weighs about 35-40 pounds. Pumpkin is a silly, sweet, happy girl who is not slowed down by her joints! She has a luxating patella and mild hip dysplasia. Her joints are likely the result of poor breeding practices, but her condition can be relatively easily well managed. She does have intermittent lameness - this lameness is caused by her patella (knee cap) popping out place, which causes her to then skip/hop to "kick it back into place. This doesn't appear to be painful for her, just more awkward looking than anything haha. She recovers quickly and then is back to trotting on her thick but short legs! She may not ever be a marathon runner, but she can happily enjoy a normal dog life and would love to be your couch potato buddy. She isn't phased by her knee and even hops up easily on to the couch for snuggles. She is super sweet, loves to give kisses and cuddle. And she is even very well behaved for car rides and walks. So far she has gotten along well with other dogs in the foster home and is doing well with a slow introduction to cats. She is also crate trained and potty trained. She knows sit, stay and come! She is a smart cookie! Could she be your next best friend?

She is estimated to be 1 year old (as of 2/2024) (Estimated birthdate is 02/08/2023) and is:
-Spayed
-Microchipped
-Vaccinated (up to date for their age)
-Dewormed
-Come with a lifetime supply of love

More about this rescue

Our mission is to care for and protect unwanted, lost and/or abused animals, to promote animal welfare within the community, and to promote the human-animal bond. We strive to create the maximum positive effect that we can.

We are SOUL - Shelter for Outcasts, Unusuals, and the Lost An Animal Rescue. 🐾

We focus on taking in animals that don’t do well in shelter environments, such as neonates (bottle baby kittens), complex medical cases, and animals with behavioral needs. We pair these animals with veterinary students who are able to give them special and individualized attention in foster homes to offer the animals a second chance to thrive.
