My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are looking for a little house gremlin to follow your every move and be the best little crumb snatcher around-look no further! This girl is such a great pup! She’s guessed to be around 3 years old, rat terrier mix, and weighs 19 pounds. Sassy came into CAFA just days before being euthanized at a local kill shelter. Sassy was carrying five little hitchhikers that she gave birth that same night. Her babies have left to head out for the next chapter of their lives, but sassy is ready and looking for a furever home and a family that will spoil her rotten! Sassy absolutely loves toys, antlers, and stuffed bones. She is house broken and crate trained-although she stays out most all of the time-when I run out she usually snuggles with her foster sister or the cat. Sassy loves other dogs of all ages and sizes. She has made a kitty friend, with a kitty that acts more like one of the dogs. She and the cat will roughhouse and she does chase her-the cat chases her back! lol sassy can be a nervous Nelly at times, like thunder storms, fireworks, or if the dreaded vacuum monster is after her. She has been around teenagers-loud and stinky boys- and although she prefers quieter days, she does well with them. She has not been around small kids. The only concern with smaller children would be risk of injury, as she has tiny little legs. Sassy needs a fenced in yard as she loves to run as fast as possible around the yard a time or two daily. When the zoomies kick in -she’s lighting fast!! Like all terriers, Sass can be hardheaded at times, she gets very excited over food. People food especially. She has been learning better manners and doing much better, she is also working on the leave it command-this one is always important for those quick crumb snatchers, in the case something is dropped they can’t have. Often when she wants to play or go potty, or maybe even a bite of someone’s food she will bark and make gremlin sounds, which are funny and cute. Her favorite pastime is to snuggle with her people. She has come a long way from being terrified of humans to not being able to get enough lap time now. Sassy would do wonderful in a home with or without another dog (although she loves to play tug of war with all her foster friends), older kids, and a very dog friendly cat. In her stay here (at her foster home in Louisiana) she has made even more friends than the dogs and cat- like with a guinea pig, horses, a even a cow!
Sassy loves to go for rides and to put on her little jacket-as she knows this means going for a walk or a ride and she is down for either! This little love will make the best couch buddy and walking partner. She is the total pup package!
