Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hellooooooo my name is Johnny!!! Actually I've been called Johnny Fever and Johnny Bravo---sooooo just call me Johnny since that's the short version that I answer to. I am a 5 1/2 year old, 34 lb cocker boy full of life, personality and energy who had a very rough life until these nice FCCR ladies took me in. Now life is good!!
Let’s get to know each other…first, I am a super intelligent boy and a quick learner especially with positive reinforcement and food…did i tell you I LOVE food!
Second, I get along with other pups as long as they respect me and my space and do not bully me. I am not a fan of cats and NO KIDS PLEASE - they scare me- I need a quiet home where I can be the center of attention. My foster mom says with the right "human leadership" I am a calm and sweet prince.
You see my life before FCCR was filled with loneliness, neglect and outright abuse! My previous "owner" decided they really didn't have time for me — I came into the rescue severely matted with a collar embedded in my neck, I was heartworm positive, and I was totally unsocialized and afraid of people. I lived most of my days in a crate or was left to run loose in a yard full of fleas and with a fur brother who bullied me constantly. FCCR immediately got the nasty collar surgically removed, treated my neck infection and got my heart worm treated (and I am fully recovered!!). I now enjoy regular grooming to show off my beautiful tan and white fur.
Fast Forward — My foster family has lavished me with the love and attention I was missing and they are super patient with my quirky behavior…helping me learn to trust humans. My past trauma means my humans have to go really slow with me and watch for my stress signals. I'm in a quiet, nurturing and loving foster home now but I really hope for my very own forever home---with experienced pawrents who can turn my sad story into a fairytale ending? Could that be YOU?
