My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat through our Owner Placement Program. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Gypsy is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with her current owner in Vacaville. Adoption fee applies. Find out more about Owner Placement Cats.

Gypsy is a gorgeous purebred pedigreed Ragdoll with stunning sapphire blue eyes. She is an affectionate, healthy kitty having always been indoors.

She is currently with a family member due to owner's health issues. Gypsy was quite shy at first when she came to live in a new home, taking nearly a month to unfold into the loving gentle, sweet cat she is.

Does she do the "Ragdoll Flop" as many Ragdolls do? Yes she does! In her own peculiar way. If she becomes stressed she flops down on the floor, goes limp, and meows until she is picked up and comforted.

She loves other animals, gets along with other cat friendly cats, but cannot be in a home with dogs if the dogs like to chase. This is why Gypsy is available for adoption. The 3 small dogs in the household love her, are friendly, not aggressive or harmful, but they are chasers and she cannot tolerate being chased.

She has always been perfect about using her litterbox except for now when she gets chased. No issue when she is happy, but she has been having accidents when she is stressed by the dogs. She never had litter box issues when she was an only pet. She likes a clean litter box, so daily cleaning is recommended.

This sweet girl has a sensitive tummy, which is not uncommon for Ragdolls. Gypsy is not picky about her food and has no issues sharing food with another kitty. Open feeding is not an option for her. She does need to be monitored. If she eats too much at one time she will eat, throw up, go back for more and repeat the cycle. She is fed small portions 4 times a day which prevents upsetting her tummy.

Gypsy is excellent with other cats, children and dogs if they do not chase or play too rough, it scares her. She flops on the ground and meows loudly waiting to be picked up.

Gypsy will become attached to her person. She will be the happiest cat in the world if she was with her person most of the time as her person's baby. She needs love, attention and does not like to be alone. She will share the attention, but she really craves her own person. Her happy places are sitting on a lap getting brushed,ve a then sitting in the window looking outside. But please don't let her go outside! She will "flop" due to nervousness.

Preference will be given to adopters, with a quiet home who are there most of the time, have experience with longhair cat breed and will keep Gypsy indoor only as their 'baby girl' to love and cherish for the rest of her life.

Gypsy is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet food, and eats dry food.

She currently lives with her owner in Vacaville.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Gypsy please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Pam at cheemers@gmail.com or 541-290-8408. If you are unable to reach Pam please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

Purebreds Plus cat Rescue (purebredsplus.org), serving Northern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Oregon, and Northern Nevada, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of purebred cats, kittens and other exceptional felines. We are a 501 (c)3 non-profit rescue group. Most of our beautiful felines come from Northern California Animal Shelters. One of our goals is to keep purebred cats from ever ending up in a shelter. We are happy to help you if you need to rehome your purebred cat. Often, we can offer advice if your cat is having behavioral problems, and you may end up keeping the cat. We do NOT ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.
