My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How about proving "the third time's (or third home is) the charm" for this delicious beagle? This is Salsa's bio from two years ago:

"Hey! Have you heard? Me and my BFF Jazz have been rescued! We'll keep the past brief, but we were kept 24/7 in a run down cage outside all year long and it didn't even have a bottom! Just wires! We're okay though. We did get enough to eat and the vet says except for our dirty ears (which are clean now) we're AOK. Boy, though, THIS is the life. Now sometimes I go outside and sometimes I come in - I get to lay around on a dog bed and chew wonderful bones, as many as I want! I only chew on my bones and don't mind be crated at all - I'm not going to blow this gig by being difficult. I'm happy with the good life.

Salsa and Jazz did go their separate ways, each adopted by wonderful loving families, but sadly Salsa is once again without a "forever" home. Her parents loved her very much and she is healthy and obviously well taken care of, but they had to move to a place that would not take Salsa.

These days Salsa is even sweeter than before, if that's possible. Very well mannered, very affectionate, good in her crate and is very, very quiet. She loves it outside and can show some real energy out there, as well as at treat time. Other than that "just hangin'" is life enough for Salsa.

Salsa has absolutely no aggression, but toddlers frighten her at first (foster mom would like to stress that there is NO aggression, visiting children are safe and she does get used to repeat toddler visitors, Salsa will just hide from them until she is sure of them) and could make for an uncomfortable living situation for her. Salsa did have another dog at her new home as a companion and was quite fond of him, so a household with more than one dog would be fine, but as long as she gets her TLC an only child situation would suit her as well.

Easy going, crate trained, housebroken, loving, flexible...whether Salsa is your first time or third time...it WILL be a charm!
