My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog.

MEET MARGIE!!

Margie is SUCH a 55 lb happy and playful gal who loves people!!   She is always up for a good long walk, and is a great leash walker! But she also thoroughly enjoys being lazy, watching Netflix.

She is a medium energy dog, so a walk or two each day would be perfect. Margie would be a WONDERFUL partner for a Hiker or Runner!~

Margie is a great companion, and does just fine when being left home alone, she is not destructive at all.  She is an all-around great dog!

She is already housebroken AND Doggy-door trained! True to her breed, she's super smart and learns things quickly--she already knows SIT and STAY.

She appears to be good with other dogs, as she's quite timid when meeting new pups. A doggy buddy would be great!

Note: Marge currently lives in a home that is close to a jet landing strip and is terrified of the loud noises (she isn't bothered by normal airplanes) so will need an adopter that is not in the flight path of Luke AFB or their jet paths. Loud noises can trigger anxiety in this poor gal.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website: www.underdogaz.com.

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.

Go meet their pets

We attend multiple adoption events throughout the valley during Spring and Fall.
If you are interested in a specific pet, please complete our adoption application found on our website and we can then coordinate a meet and greet.

More about this rescue

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.
