Scrunge is an adorably clapped out litte lynx point domestic shorthair mix that was transferred to the Mission from SCRAPS. Sje has an estimated birthday of 02/19/2023. She was attacked by an unknown predator and has remarkable scarring on her back side, and her right ear was frostbitten off during the cold snap, so now she's just the perfect little dumpster fire in search of the ideal garbage man to love her forever.

Scrunge is somewhat shy at first meeting but settles with new people and animals once given the chance to adjust. She loves to be petted and is still gaining confidence when it comes to being held.

Scrunge comes spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Her adoption fee is $50 and includes her medical records and a sample of the food she's been eating. To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.

Adopters in the Spokane area can expect to meet the pet during the homecheck. Others will arrange a meet and greet.

Once your application has been received, we will evaluate it as a potential match for the given animal and, if your application is selected, we will proceed to call your references and then conclude with a home check and meet and greet scheduled by you at your home. For applicants out of area, the home check may be conducted via video call before the meet and greet.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
